Today is off. Yay!! Just for fun – and also because I’ve exchanged some memories with a very good old friend yesterday –, I’ve decided to humiliate myself this morning playing vintage games on my 8-bit Atari. And I’ve been served. I suck really bad.
But, instead of playing to the time-consuming cartridge swapping game – which has its charms, I am not complaining –, I went ahead and used my mega cartridge instead. The concept is simple: cram as many games as possible into big flash memory and interface it with the Atari. Dress it with a simple and efficient UI, et voila! Now that I’ve considerably shortened my time between power-on and failure, I just need to work on the success part :). Have a great WE!

Алексей Пименов not sure my translation is correct, so apologies if I am missing your point. Well, there are two ways to see at this post. The first is the presentation of an interesting way to consolidate a game – or any other cartridge content – collection, using a flash memory. The second, is me admiring that I am really not a talented gamer 🙂

You know, you don’t need to be actually good at those old games, just playing them is most of the fun, Jamel Tayeb! This really makes me want to fire up one of my Commodore machines sometime again… Atari and Commodore were two completely different worlds, but there were some parallels like Boulder Dash and Lode Runner!
