Almost a year ago – time really flies –, I’ve built a stand for my rocket project. This first version fulfilled all my initial requirements. Yet, as I am progressing in the project, new requirements are surfacing: need to deploy easily in the field, need to free up desktop space while putting the rocket at desk heights for easy access and servicing. Since the space at home is limited, the new stand must be foldable and usable with several tools such a drill press or a miter saw. Well, my new rocket stand is a miter saw stand with custom cylinder holders mounted on dedicated brackets. I am wondering if I will need a version 3.0 down the road :-).

Deezul not quite the same thing 🙂
What do you thing it can take off
Odine Odine initially I planned the L1 certification flight for summer 2017, but I obviously: 1) I underestimated the scope of the project – at least with my requirements 🙂 – which is a good thing; 2) I underestimated the extra time & energy my daily job will take (a very busy year); and finally 3) with all my other projects, the time is really becoming a luxury. With all this learning, I am now targeting the certification flight for 2019 (definitively on the safe side).
Space is always at a premium. I have no place to build anything because the machine tools filled up the shop. Sure hope the first flight goes well with all the work and money you put into it.
Bob Cartwright agree and thank you for your encouraging message.
