The second – and likely last – season of G.L.O.W. (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) is a tribute to the roaring ’80s. The Netflix TV series (2017-18, written by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch) tells the story of a group of wrestling women performing for an LA local TV channel. Alison Brie (Ruth Wilder), Marc Maron (Sam Sylvia) and the rest of the cast are astonishing and funny. In S2:E9, Rhonda Richardson, played by Kate Nash, incarnates the character of Britannica, a nerd infatuated with a mannequin named Thomas.
Because the plot takes place in 1980, it is not a surprise to spot a Commodore 64 In Britannica’s lab. The production team threw in a Commodore 1541 Floppy Drive and apparently a Commodore 1702 video monitor. The unit is powered-up (the first time we can spot the computer but is powered off later on) and displays some typical output. I bet the team typed the DIR command and maybe the infamous BASIC for-loop. That’s really all we can peek. In addition to the C64, we can also spot an unidentified robot, few brick cell phones, and few Walkman!
