A few nights ago, I’ve tuned into Night School (2018), a comedy telling us the story of a group of misfits trying to pass the GED exam to finish High-school. The movie is not a masterpiece but had enough gags to keep me up until I could spot some unusual code. What really was unusual, was not only to see source code in such a movie (Anne WintersMila tries to hack into the principal’s computer) but because of the production’s choice for the source code: the Linux kernel group.c file. Again!? You may recall that I’ve spotted the same code on the TV show Air disasters. Too big of a coincidence. Now I have to look closely to see if group.c will show up again somewhere else, and second, to find out who is so fascinated by this code to use it as his go-to coding prop.
