Today, I want to share my latest project—the second major upgrade I made to my workplace this year. This project, building a new library, unfolded along the calculator wall (here) and the new computer rack, which I haven’t mentioned yet (stay tuned!). Since moving into our new home, my books have been in storage with limited access, so you can imagine how excited I was to embark on this project.
In terms of design, I wanted a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf to maximize the 9 feet of height under the ceiling and to utilize the entire wall space. More importantly, I needed a structure that wouldn’t bend under the weight of my books. I had previously experienced bending bookshelves, so I required a shelf thickness of at least 2 inches for the necessary rigidity and 4 to 5 meters of continuous horizontal spaces to store my extensive magazine collection without interruption. After some time and hard work, I am thrilled with the results!
Next came the unboxing and organizing of my books. I took the opportunity to catalog all of them using the BookBuddy+ application on my iPhone. After unpacking about one thousand books—excluding magazines like my complete collection of Byte magazine and approximately 10% of ancient books without recognized barcodes—the process took two full days! Ultimately, I now have direct access to my beloved books and magazines. Yeah!

Bravo ! Belle bibliothèque
Enjoy
Thank you so much for offering me several of these books! I really appreciate it! 🙂
Quite the organizational achievement.
Thank you, Tina. Coming from you, I consider it a badge of honor.
