I’ve spent last week to go thru the various pre-flight preparations. First, we registered ourselves with the FAA and went thru the various regulations. Very basic and a lot of common sense. If you fly am UAV for the living, obtaining your license is a bit more involved.

But for recreational use, it is kid’s play. I used the time to get used to the various parts and controls. The Kit is shipped with a USB dongle that you can pair your controller with, and use a simulator to train. Good idea. The simulator is pretty accurate and helped me to get acquainted with the beast. Even pushing the limits. Great learning and a good prep for the maiden flight. One note: the batteries could benefit from a smart charger interface.
