Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is the latest incarnation of the F&F franchise. I will skip the comments on the cinematographic qualities of the movie, directed by David Leitch (2019). For sure, the cast is great: Dwayne Johnson (Hobbs), Jason Statham (Shaw), Idris Elba (Brixton), Vanessa Kirby (Hattie), Helen Mirren (Queenie), and Eiza González (Madame M).
In the opening scene, when Hattie needs to access to a dangerous virus, we can see some de-compilation code of a network driver. Likely done with IDA Pro, we can recognize the characteristic function signatures, as well as a guess to the source file. We can further precise that this is a Windows driver and can recognize a few usual suspects: RTL_GENERIC_TABLE, HANDLE, etc. This choice is refreshing and avoids us reading all over again the Linux groups source code 😉 Now, of course, there is nothing more that they could have done with source code in a Fast & Furious franchise.
