Columbo (Peter Falk) is the last show in which I expected spotting computers. I was wrong. In retrospect, Columbo is the ideal show for these early Man vs. The Machine sketches. Indeed, in a nutshell, Columbo’s secret weapon is to play dumb, so the murderer lowers its defenses and gets caught. I remember finding such Columbo vs. Computer plays in at least two episodes. In S3;E6 Mind Over Mayhem, and in S4:E1 An Exercise in Fatality (both episodes circa 1974). In the latter, the famous lieutenant goes to the DMV and faces a Control Data mainframe and its operator. It is unclear to me which experience if the worst for Columbo, but in the end, he wins. And you, do you remember a Columbo episode where a computer or code was showcased?
